The WP Insert RSS Thumbnail plugin offers you the possibility to have a small icon, in front of each blog entries, news headlines, website articles… in your RSS feed.
A better look for you feeds in aggregators
The image thumbnail is automatically detected by aggregators compatible with the ‘enclosure’ tags.

How it works
Specify a thumbnail for each post:
1. Upload a picture (ideally not to big) through your WP media library gallery
2. Specify the path this picture in the custom meta-data field named ‘thumbnail’ in your posts
3. And that rocks
You repeat the operation for each post, and a thumbnail will be automatically added in front of each of your RSS articles. If not, a default thumbnail may be displayed.
Options
- If you want to change the name of the custom meta data field where you input the path of your thumbnail, you can change it (default value: ‘thumbnail’).
- If you are using relative thumbs URLs in the custom metadata fields of your posts, then you have to specify here the domain name of your site:
Example: if you input ‘/content/media/image01.jpg’ in the posts’custom metadata fields, then you must specify here http://www.yourdomaine.com.
- If there is nothing in the posts’custom metadata fields, the plugin can try to find an image in your post. If several images, it will display the first one.
- If both meta-data field and image in article can not be found, you may specify a default thumbnail.
Things to know about your feeds
If you want to regenerate them, you have to add or update one of your post.
Things to know about Feedburner
This plugin is compatible with other feedburner plugins, which redirects your main feed to feedburner.com and enable you to insert ads, track visitors…
But Feedburner refreshes your feeds evey 30 minutes, and changes might not be immediately visible. Ping it to force refresh.

Hi,
I’m realy struggling with this. These are the given instructions:
1. Upload a picture (ideally not to big) through your WP media library gallery
2. Specify the path this picture in the custom meta-data field named ‘thumbnail’ in your posts
3. And that rocks
My questions:
1. Will it not work if I upload an image from the media uploader and not through the WP media library gallery?
2. Where is the « custom meta-data field named ‘thumbnail’ in your posts »?

Bonjour,
J’ai utilisé votre plugin pour un projet mais il ne correspondait pas tout à fait à ce dont j’avais besoin et buggais sur mon installation ( shortags php non supportés ).
J’ai ajouté des fonctionnalités et réécrit le code pour qu’il soit un peu plus structuré et aussi traduisible.
